Your name, contact information, including your professional position and affiliation, potential financial conflict of interest disclosures, and various metadata about your manuscript, including the manuscript files themselves. This information is stored in the ScholarOne Manuscripts database. We consider your submission and the information contained in your manuscript and cover letter to be confidential information and will treat it as such. We do send submissions, including all author names, to external peer reviewers but request that they keep the information confidential. You may request withdrawal of your manuscript at any time by emailing editorial@ajtmh.org or calling us at +1 216-368-6940.

How we use the data:

1. For peer review and publication:

We use the data to perform internal editorial review and external peer review of your manuscript. If we publish your manuscript, your name, institutional affiliation, and much of the material you submit with the manuscript will be made public. This includes disclosure forms, data sharing statements, and the research protocol for clinical trials. We may contact you and your individual coauthors with questions about your submitted manuscript.

2. For reviewers:

We will provide the words in the “Comments for Authors” box to the author upon making a decision on the manuscript. Your name and confidential comments to the AJTMH editors will remain with AJTMH and not be shared with anyone.

3. Marketing:

We do not share our author and reviewer database with our marketing department. If, as a consumer of ASTMH you wish to opt out of marketing emails you should click the unsubscribe link provided in the marketing communication or contact customer service at info@astmh.org.
